The Miguel Servet Ophthalmology Research and Innovation Group (GIMSO) is an international leader in clinical research within the field of ophthalmology. With more than 200 publications in leading journals and more than 50 funded research projects, this group combines experienced researchers with young and promising scientists. The team consists of ophthalmologists, optometrists, physicists, bioengineers, ocular photographers, and statisticians, and maintains active collaborations with other national and international research groups, as well as with R & D foundations, patient associations, neurologists, neurophysiologists and pathologists.

Our colleagues Elisa Viladés (Optometrist) and Dr. Bartol-Puyal (Ophthalmologist), have been awarded for their lines of research in neuroophthalmology and retina, respectively, in different international congresses.
Dr. Francisco Bartol-Puyal received the Diploma for the Best Poster of the congress of the European Society of Ophthalmology with the work entitled: “Correlation Between Choroidal Thickness and Systemic Microangiopathy in Diabetic Patients”.
And Elisa Viladés received the Award for Best Oral Communication from the International Congress of Visual Health for her work “Relationship between retinal thinning, disease duration and disability status in multiple sclerosis patients”.
